Procedure

  1. 1Collect tasks by status: done, in progress, to start
  2. 2Compute percent progress on completed tasks
  3. 3List blockers with cause and who must unblock
  4. 4Define the 3 next steps with owner and date
  5. 5Flag deviations from plan

Rules

  • · Progress is computed on tasks, not effort estimates
  • · No blocker without an assigned owner
  • · If a project date slips, state it: never 'on track' when it is not

Expected output

Report: % progress + done/in-progress/to-start + blockers (cause, owner) + 3 next steps

When not to use it

  • · Project without tracked tasks: the report would be invented
  • · Internal and external use together: ask which
