Procedure

  1. 1Take the 5 most relevant data points of the period
  2. 2Translate them into business language: what happened, what it means
  3. 3Split: good, to watch, to fix
  4. 4Close with 3 decisions requested from the owner
  5. 5Keep 200 words max

Rules

  • · No technical jargon and no unexplained BI formulas
  • · Every number must sit inside a sentence
  • · The summary never hides negative data

Expected output

Briefing (good / to watch / to fix) + 3 requested decisions

When not to use it

  • · Unconsolidated data: flag the summary as provisional
  • · Formal document request: that needs Documentation, not a summary
